The Santa Catharina monastery in the Sinai desert is the place where God spoke to Moses for the first time. Mount Sinai, right next to it, is at least as holy as the monastery, as on top of this mountain Moses received the stone tablets with the ten commandments. We climbed the mountain, like Moses thousands of years before us, but we received nothing. Just this fabulous view.
Het Santa Catharina klooster in de Sinaļ woestijn is de plek waar God het eerst tegen Moses sprak. De berg Sinaļ er pal naast is minstens net zo'n heilige plek, omdat Moses daar de stenen tabletten met de tien geboden van God kreeg. Wij beklommen de berg, net als Moses duizenden jaren voor ons, maar wij kregen niks. Alleen dit fantastische uitzicht.
